    Probability and Statistics Fundamentals for Analyzing Ophthalmic Clinical Studies

    Half-Day Course:
    May 5th 2012 from 1:00pm - 4:30PM

    Organizers:
    Dale J. Kennedy, Ph.D., Statistics & Data Corp.;
    Kathryn S. Kennedy, MSE, Statistics & Data Corp.

    This course is designed for the non-statistician clinical research professional who wants to develop a better understanding of the statistical terms and concepts used in ophthalmic clinical studies and research. It provides the participant with the knowledge necessary to more successfully interface with project statisticians. It is designed to provide the participant with the key principles and concepts necessary to understand measures of central tendency and dispersion, bias, probability fundamentals, statistical inference and confidence intervals to include sample size determination and power. The course includes a review of the most applicable parametric and nonparametric statistical methods used in ophthalmic clinical studies with integrated examples for dry eye disease, ocular allergy, and glaucoma. Participants will know the key drivers for sample size and power for their clinical studies. They will also know what statistical inference tests are most applicable and how to correctly interpret the results of those tests.

    Registration is required in advance for this
    Education Course through ARVO
