Dr. Richard Abelson, President & CEO of Statistics & Data Corporation (SDC), founded the company in November of 2005. Prior to SDC’s inception, Richard served on the Board of Directors of Ora, Inc. (www.oraclinical.com) for over 10 years. Richard holds a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering with a focus on applied statistics, quality, and reliability engineering from Arizona State University (ASU), a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering focused in Operations Research and Production Systems (ASU) and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering in Industrial Engineering (ASU), and is certified as a Six Sigma Black Belt. He is a member of DIA, ARVO and CDISC.
Faith Haines Kolb joined SDC in January 2017 now serving as Chief Operating Officer based in Waltham, MA. Prior to joining SDC, Faith served as Vice President, Biometrics at Veristat and formerly held leadership positions at Parexel, Prometrika, and Averion International. With more than 20 years of experience in clinical trials, she brings to SDC a proven track record of leading companies through change, growth, and standardization. Her clinical trials experience spans both common and complex therapeutic areas including, but not limited to, oncology, neurology, dermatology, and genetic diseases. She maintains distinct technical expertise across various EDC, CDMS, CTMS, and statistical software platforms. Faith holds a BA in Mathematics and Education from Clark University in Worcester, MA and is active with various local, national, and international industry associations such as MassBio, DIA, SCDM, and the American Management Association.
Jim Townsend joined SDC in 2008 and has since held roles of increasing responsibility within the organization, now serving as Vice President of Business Operations and Major Accounts. During his time at SDC, Jim has led initiatives for company growth and helped to diversify the company’s pipeline of work into multiple therapeutic areas. Jim holds a Masters in Business Administration from the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University (ASU) and a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from the Ira A. Fulton School of Engineering at ASU.
Adam Hamm serves as Sr. Vice President, Biostatistics and Strategic Consulting and has over 19 years of experience in clinical trials research. Prior to joining SDC, Adam served as the Head of North America Biostatistics at Cytel and has held other leadership positions at various CRO’s. Adam’s clinical trial experience spans a variety of therapeutic areas and includes successful submissions leading to regulatory approvals for therapeutics in central nervous system disorders and respiratory disease. Adam has technical expertise in adaptive designs and statistical software platforms that utilize clinical trial simulations for efficient and statistically rigorous designs for innovative trials, including early phase oncology trials. For over fifteen years, Adam has had successful and collaborative interactions with regulatory agencies, communicating and consulting on various regulatory and statistical issues on behalf of clients over many therapeutic areas. Adam holds a Ph.D. in Biostatistics from Virginia Commonwealth University (Medical College of Virginia Campus) and Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Virginia Tech.
Todd Bonta joined SDC in 2021 and serves as Vice President, Clinical Data Management. Todd has over 22 years of experience in CDM spanning all phases (I-IV) of clinical research. Prior to SDC, Todd served as Global Director, Clinical Data Management at CTI Clinical Trial & Consulting Services and held multiple related roles at Kendle International. Todd’s responsibilities have included all aspects of the CDM field from CRF design through database lock across numerous therapeutic areas. Todd brings to SDC a wealth of CDM knowledge in CRF and database design, EDC systems and implementation, and overall Global Team Leadership. Todd holds an MA in Experimental Psychology from Morehead State University and a BA in Psychology from University of Kentucky.
Quan Doan joined SDC in 2013 and has since held roles of increasing responsibility within the organization, now serving as Vice President, Technology Solutions. Quan has over 22 years of experience in Clinical Data Management, Programming and GCP System Validation. Prior to SDC, Quan served as Clinical Software Quality Assurance at W.L. Gore & Associates, Inc. (Gore) and held multiple related roles at Gore and Pfizer. During his time at SDC, Quan has lead initiatives for the selection, implementation, development, and integration of various GCP systems and maintains distinct technical expertise across various CDMS, IRT, and end-to-end clinical trial platforms.
