Tempe, AZ, September 14, 2018 – SDC’s second annual Volunteer Day, a company-wide initiative for employees to volunteer their time at local charitable organizations and give back to the community, was held on Tuesday, September 11, 2018.
Employees based in SDC’s Tempe office volunteered at Feed My Starving Children, a food-packing facility in the greater Phoenix area. Founded in 1987, Feed My Starving Children is a non-profit that provides nutritionally complete meals specifically formulated for malnourished children around the world. SDC and other volunteers helped pack 170 boxes for children in Thailand, helping to feed an estimated 100 children for a year according to Feed My Starving Children.
SDC’s team in Waltham, MA volunteered at the Greater Boston Food Bank. The Greater Boston Food Bank is the largest hunger-relief organization in New England and among the largest food banks in the country. SDC and other volunteers packed over 10,000 pounds of food, which the organization estimates will feed a family of 4 for 2.5 years.
From the West Seattle Food Bank to the Ronald McDonald House in Chapel Hill, NC, other SDC team members volunteered in their local communities on SDC Volunteer Day.
