Handling of Missing Data in Clinical Trials for Non-Statisticians

When a patient discontinues a clinical trial resulting in missing data at key time points, how is their information (observed and missing measures) utilized? Some methods aim to consider what the missing measures would have been had the patient remained on trial, while others consider the subject’s discontinuation to be informative on its own. This presentation will explain, illustrate, and compare various methods of accounting for missing data in the analysis of clinical trials and their differential effect on results.
